When you trim the bottom beak does it bleed every time? The first time we did ours I didn't think it would ever stop. Had a styptic pencil too. We file every week, but the bottom needs trimming again.

How do ya'll think my crossbeak is doing? We clipped the bottom beak, try to even it with the top and we keep it filed every week. Looks like she is holding her weight good.

What type of clipper do I use? Dog nail clippers? I read that someone used the pedipaws nail file. Will that work? So nervous about doing it the first time. Don't want to hurt her or make it bleed badly.
