I knew they were laying! Just KNEW IT!! The BlkCopper cross has had "bloomers" for the last couple of weeks. They got left in the small pen for a good part of the day because I wasn't feeling well and didn't go out to let them out. They were suppose to be blue but these one are a light olive...

Quote: Thanks! My avatar is my wonderful dog Talli. She's an Australian Blue Heeler. She's petrified of cows, but she's a fantastic herder of cats! (The cats disagree. ) I love the Blue Ridge as well. My DH and I actually honeymooned in Hot Springs, NC. (We took Talli and stayed in a...

About 6:30 they started straggling home. I have nooooooo idea where they went. I've got to let them out and range as they have gotten too big for their current pen and between chemo and weather I haven't been able to finish their new tractor. (I'm splitting them up, I've ended up with 2 roos)...

They're gone!! 6 of my 7 EE's are gone. Not a feather anywhere to be found. I have walked around the neighborhood. Nothing. Lone roo is walking up and down the treeline in the backyard calling for them. Nothing. They were all there and fine when I opened the run to let them out this morning.

Just about lost my EE's in the ugly storms rolling through the Carolinas. Walked outside after one round of storms to find it lying on it's side the EE's wandering around the yard. I had locked them back up about an hour earlier when the first storm rolled through. Thankfully they are all ok!

Quote: Jo, based on the angle of the photo I can't see that this is a crossed beak - it looks to me like just an overgrown upper beak, like an overbite. I had one EE with that and fixed it with my Dremel and a sanding drum.* Just a quick little bzzzz bzzzz and it's all fixed. *because this...

Quote: A few updated pictures of my Chicklets. I've got to get them out of the one pen and split them into bigger pens. I definately have 2 roos. Neither which has started to crow. Unlike most of you folks, my chickens are just chickens, not my pets. I free-range a lot and want them to be on...

Quote: Hey gang, didn't we come to the conclusion last week that the Easter Eggers were the "ORIGINALS" and that the Ameraucanas were bred from Easter Eggers thus making them the mutt chickens! Check your facts Jeremy!!

Quote: First pic, one on the far right is DEFINATELY a roo. Look at that red in the comb. It's not necessarily the size of the comb but the color. I had a sexlink that had a comb bigger than my roos.

My sexlinks used to lay doubles just about every other day. Big ol' honkin eggs. Redfeather-I doubt she will be all white. I have one that looked to be but developed beautiful grey veining on her feathers and a pretty grey poofy face.

That little dark one looks like the roo I got one year. He ended up having beautiful partirage markings. Not saying this one is a roo! Out of 20 chicks I got one year, 13 were roos!!

Quote: Now are they EE's or that "other" breed? They don't have green legs!!! But that one on the left looks like she has the beginning of a Fro hair cut! That is going to be one pretty bird!! They are EE's I got them from tractor supply. Last year I got EE's from out local feed store and...
