    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: Yes it does. In fact I promised Mrs Delmar that, when we raised such a roo, he could live out his natural life, and never enter the stew pot!

    The EE braggers thread!!!

I have a few EEs and EE mixes in the hatch I have going on today! https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=6351534#p6351534 No chicks from my blue eggs yet but several have pipped. I started collecting eggs today for my "blue eggs only" hatch. My goal is to breed a roo of my own...

Quote: No matter what breed of chickens you end up going with, I suggest hand raising them from hatch-lings. Chickens with a lot of human contact, from little on up are much more likely to be gentle. I only have one EE but she is a sweetie. I think you would do fine with them.

Quote: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=308323&p=3 Here is an old thread on that very subject, but unfortunately there seems to be a lot of various paths that similar looking chick can head toward! I looked through the entire thread and I couldn't find a definite...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

So I have another question about my EE/Wyandotte hen turned rooster. His tail feathers, which appear mostly black from a distance, have a green tint that appears purple from certain angles. Is this a Wyandotte thing or an EE thing?

    The EE braggers thread!!!

So I dispatched the birds on the right and left and only Edwardo remains from that group. I let he and my girls (I really do have some hens, they are laying eggs and everything) out to free range. He and one of my Barred Rocks managed to demonstrate beyond any doubt that he is, in fact a...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: I'm not going to bother with all that. The minute I knew they were all roos I started thinking 5 hens and 4 roos is 3 to many roosters! I may keep 2 for a while, since you don't have to feed them much in the summer.

Quote: Sadly no. I haven't had chickens very long. Quote: We don't all learn real fast but some of us do appreciate the effort. So what do you guys think of my new rooster "Edwardo"? Is there a specific name for the bronze and black color pattern?

Boy is my face red! The lady who gave them to us said they were two girls and a boy and I took her word for it. Guess I should have posted photos a long time ago in the name that gender section. I really wasn't looking to butcher again this soon, but thanks for the help!

Are you telling me none of them are girls? Roostie is the only one of the bunch that ever crowed?

    The EE braggers thread!!!

So here are a few shots of my EE mixes. The Girls are EE/Wyandotte and Roostie (you might have seen him on another thread) is a EE/Leghorn mix. I made the mistake of trying to put them in with the other birds in January at the age of 9 weeks and they got sort of beat up. So we decided to keep...

I'm sorry you are having that trouble. I have really gotten lucky with my Lab. I know this is the EE braggers thread but I was just doing some bragging of my own in another thread! https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=6293160#p6293160
