yes,black is pretty obvious...im guessing you heve dark blue. here are my am babies. the one on the far left was my black cockerel, all the others are blue... though the far right is Billy Ray/ Fabio/Rod Stewart and he is not solid blue

I vote blue but probably a dark blue- not laced...I could tell on my babies at hatch. I had one light one that ended up with dark lacing around each feather & the other that looked like this one is a dark smokey color. My black was obvious (i recently lost him to a hawk ).

here is my growing ee rooster. he is currently perfecting his crow. i hope he continues to be sweet because he is too pretty to eat :P I'm calling him Rod as in Rod Stewart i think he is an ameraucana x marans. so probably an oe right?

So bummed! My little yellow/brown chick & my little dot head chick are missing I let them out with mom yesterday and when I got home she was snuggled up in the nest so I figured everyone was safe & sound...this morning when I went to let her out again I only have the 2 brown girls left...

I thought it was supposed to be easy with Barred crosses? If father is barred then all barred chicks will be females & if mom is barred all barred chicks will be males? Is that right?? Are all EE's patterned? No solid colors?

Here is one of the girls? I hope :-) Here is the dot head boy...can see the barring showing up now.....he also has feathered shanks. Strange since my marans has clean legs. They all seem to have willow legs too.

Okay, here they are... 3 week old BARRED ROCKS. I think this one may be a pullet. Not much barring yet, smaller head spot. This looks like a cockerel, bright barring, larger diffuse head spot. And this one...IDK, barring is bright but head spot is smaller...be nice if it was a girl but I'm...

Here are my new ee babies...dad is the Ameraucana in my avatar & mom is a Cuckoo Maran, A Dark Cornish, or a Buff Orpington. Any thoughts on what colors they'll be when they grow up? These pix are at 2 days old..I will take more [better ones] this weekend @ 2 weeks.

MS- How old are these babies right now?? I have 3 BR (Black) that came from DMRippy (I got them thru Overoberyl) and I am trying to see who is male/female, Just wondering how long it will be before I can tell by the comb. Mine are 2.5 weeks old. Thanks!
