That is a thought. I am hoping to catch her on the nest again in the morning and see if she lays. I had to go to work when she was on the nest this time but with it being the only egg in the nest I can't imagine it being anyone else.

My two favorites also. I researched and that is what I decided to go with. Want to add a few more of both this spring once we get the new coop and run built so I can have more room.

No beards, one is definitely a full BA, this first one, MollyB is the BA imposter with a EE comb. She looks just like the other one except that darn comb. So I am shocked to find that she is laying the green egg, UNLESS she is isn't the one but she was laying in the nest this morning and the...

I know little about chickens, I am learning but for some reason I thought that an EE that laid green eggs had to have green legs? Why I thought that I do not know. I have some EE's and I also "thought" I had 2 full Black Aussies but as they matured they looked identical except one has the big...

TW1Kell, Starr hasn't started laying yet but I think she will very shortly as CordonBleu has been "bothering" her lately. I am not sure how old she is. I got her from a lady about 2 months ago. Sparkle is pretty, the name suits her!

Thanks littlechicklet. I don't know anything about genetics but of course I am just learning about chickens. I just got my first egg on Monday so that tells ya how new I am at this. The only Roo I have now is CordonBleu so I wonder what his chicks with the new layer, a Black Australorp will be...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Hiya, it's been a while since I posted on this thread but my chickens are getting bigger, they now 22 weeks old. Here is a picture of them. 5 of them are EE's, the other 2 are B Aussies. The cockeral is my baby! He is so so so gentle. I had 2 roo's and only wanted to keep one, the other was a...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

I was sitting here before going to work telling someone about my chickens and realized the difference between the 2 EE's I have and the 3 black aussies. All five of my chickens are almost 12 weeks old. I have one BA roo and 2 BA pullets. One EE roo and one EE pullet. One of the BA pullets...

This morning when I went out to let the babies out I took the camera with me to get shots of my bearded lady! She is 9 weeks old. This is Teriyaki :-) Needless to say, I am a little excited! Doesn't take much to make me happy, it's the simple things in life....awwww!

Aha, thanks cheeka! Your bearded chickens are lovely! Ya know, this little pullet has always been slower to feather out compared to all the rest. She's always looked scraggly so I didn't pay much attention to her little feathery beard til it hit me yesterday that she is getting a beard...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Just curious, I've noticed the last couple of days that my pullet (I think it's a pullet) is getting a beard. I know that Ameraucana people get upset if you call an EE an Ameraucana so what distinguishes one from the other? Do EE's get beards also?

Thank you Simmonsfunnyfrm, I think he is really pretty but I figure I am just partial because he is mine but I have watched him feather out and I love what I see. And, he is soooo sweet. Here he is as a hatchling, was adorable!
