Quote: hahahahaha, I don't think you had to specify in that pic which one was Oprah. I have been giggling for the last 3 minutes over that. Congrats on your eggs, that's wonderful!

Quote: Well, my EE roo, Lady (who some of you may remember me posting desperate pleas to tell me he was a pullet a while back) had tail feathers earlier than most of the pullets. Lady is 100% cockeral. He crows up a storm and is so very proud. He's turning quite beautifully too. I need to get...

Quote: Not sure if her color/pattern would be called splash, but she is not an Ameraucana. She is very pretty, and that color pattern is similar to other pics posted on this thread. Especially Illia's EE's. My only black and white develoved red (in the hackles, and wings) and a crow...

Quote: I'm such a newbie. This was supposed to be directed to Velvet HairPiece. haha, it's alright. I got it. I was reading it, and was thinking "Gosh, this person sounds a lot like how I write..." and then realized that you were quoting me. But I wish you people would stop telling me Lady...

Yeah that 10 hens per roo is the problem. I don't have that many girls, if Lady is a roo too, I've got 6 hens. And no, the solution isn't really to get more. I'm sure I will someday, but right now this is it! We'll just play it day to day, see how things go.

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Yeah.. all isn't lost. It would be nice to have blue eggs. But now I have two roos. And Lady has proven to be quite the watch guard, always looking out and chirruping when I come near. She's terrified of me right now! And is it possible for two boys to get along in close proximity of one...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: Interesting. I lived in Indiana all my life, met my man-friend on the internet, and since he had a job and I was just finishing university, decided to move here. In June I'll have been here for 2 years. I...definitely want to move back. Mostly just because I miss my family. Someday...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: So what it is about the comb that would or would not make her a boy S/he's the only one I've got that has a rose comb, it looks like the other EE has the single comb like the BRs/RIRs. Here's another picture, not directly on. I know everything develops differently, but she...

WKYChick: That's great about the DH loving it! I have always lived kind of out in the country (actually from the sunny side of Louisivlle in Southern Indiana-I figure you're from western ky- what are you near?) but we never had chickens, despite my mom's nickname being "chick"! In an effort to...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: Haha! Yes, we found that out a week after we got him. We of course got him out of the pullet bin. I just wish I would have thought to read about the possibility of sexing chicks by color because he had everything that a male BR should have, and I picked him because he was different, and...

Quote: 8 weeks probably seems more likely though what do I know, I'm a brand new chicken mama. Just for fun, I went and took a couple of pics just now. I'm "working from home" today so that means I can do things like that, right? Sure. Tomorrow we'll have had them for a month, and I believe...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: They are beautiful! I love those colors, like a fall sunset! Are you sure they're not older than a month? Mine are close to 5 weeks old, and they are not NEAR that feathered out! Just curious if that was a typo!

Quote: Wow, the black and silver/white one totally looks like a hawk! Especially in the third and last pictures. And I sure hope they're girls cause they look similar to mine!

    The EE braggers thread!!!

I keep reading and hearing about how chicks love eggs. I gave my 8 little ones a scrambled one (nothing else in it, just egg) and they seemed very half-hearted about it. Some would snatch it from my hand and then just drop it. Now zucchini and grapes are another story. They are ALL over those...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: I'm interested in the sex of chicks based on feather color. I know it's largely difficult to tell, especially since mine are so young, but I guess you could say I'm obsessing over it simply because I've already got one BR pullet who is definitely a roo, and I don't know I can have...
