    The EE braggers thread!!!

I thought my Easter Eggers were so sweet until today! I have 3 chicks that have been growing out in a little pen inside the run. They are 7 weeks old. Today I let them out in the run to see what happened. Everyone left them alone except for the EEs!! The ran around pecking at them, I was so...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Right now I have 8 hens in an 8ftx4ft coop - with 2 different 7ft roosts and 3 nesting boxes sitting to the outside of the coop. They all use the higher roost though. They roost themselves about 5:30pm now and I let them out 7:30-8 am. Our run is 25ftx4.5ft which they stay in, except for 10-15...

Oh man, I hope I don't have to wait 4 more months for my September hatch to lay, but gosh those eggs are pretty!

    The EE braggers thread!!!

I've heard that EE's can be slow to start laying! I wasn't expecting anything until April from my September hatch - I'm dying to see if they will lay blue though!

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Our Maran is so skittish so far! But I love the feathered legs :) I don't want to run out of room. I want a flock. Darn it, going to go and look at the MLS again...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Am I crazy? Here's a comparison to my definite roo and this one - is there a difference? This one has patchier colouring, and longer, tall tail feathers and definite saddles coming down This is from a few days before the pictures I posted before, but is flatter backed and the feathers...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

It's 12 weeks old and the comb is smaller and less red than the 6 definite roos that have long saddle feathers. The back and tail are more similarly shaped to my definite hen girls. I wish I had a better comparison shot!

    The EE braggers thread!!!

That's what I thought, and the other ones are super obvious- was just trying to hold out hope!

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Saddle feathers? I know all of the rest of them are roosters and have saddle feathers, but this one has a different shaped back, and no wing splotches like the other ones. The comb is definitely pointing rooster, but the feathers coming in are rounder. I don't want to send it off this week if...
