Chickens aren't like people. As a matter of fact, inbreeding is a practice that many breeders use. If you search "inbreeding," here on BYC, you will find some good reading. Or, you can google "inbreeding poultry," and find good stuff, too. Opinions differ as far as how many generations to do...
Great pictures, emjay! They are beautiful girls! Love the laced one.
My daughter and I went to the Crossroads Show. I was suppose to take a Wheaten Ameraucana for a friend. I accidentally picked up the wrong bird from the coop. Ooops! (The light was dim at 4AM, is my excuse) Anyway, we...

Yes, it could. But, hopefully it's a real EE and not an Ameraucana.
Really! I sure hope so. I want only pure EEs.

I bought them at Orscheln's. They get their chicks from Estes Hatchery.

In a younger group of grow outs, I have 3 Easter Eggers. One is almost white........

Oh my, there are some beautiful birds on this thread! I love my 3 Easter Eggers. They are just the sweetest girls. Two lay the prettiest light blueish green eggs, and one lays a pale pink egg.
I have had about enough broodies this year! Oh my! NOW, one of the EE gals is broody! She is sitting...
The only hatchery stock that I kept when we changed over to breeder quality is our Easter Eggers. We just love them. 2 lay green eggs, and 1 lays a pink egg. They are the sweetest girls. I guess the roosters all agree, as they are their favorites, too, and their backs were getting bare...
