Not necessarily, though they probably will. I have a pea combed hen who hatched from a nice blue egg--her mother was a true Ameraucana out of a Blue/black/splash flock. She lays a brown egg. She also is showing signs that, somewhere back in the lineage, a Sumatra rooster jumped the fence because...
Thanks, he's so far being good, but he's only about to turn 12 weeks old, so we will be watching for his hormones to kick in. If he inherits his dad Isaac's disposition, he'll be an absolute treasure.
Gideon is now just past 11 weeks old and crowing, if you can call it that. He has one red feather on his left shoulder and a hint of reddish color in the hackle area from his wheatenish-looking EE mama. His sire is my Delaware rooster, Isaac. Gideon's modified pea comb has a super prominent...
Here is my latest Delawegger cockerel (Delaware x EE--the hen is 1/2 BW Ameraucana1/2 EE), who is about 9 1/2 weeks old. No crowing yet.
Gideon will be my second in command in the main flock with his daddy, Isaac, if Ike will accept him in about three weeks when he goes in there at just over...

I wonder what the OE x BR would look like? I think ya better send me some eggs to "test" out for ya!

Well, I know all the chicks would have barring from daddy Rex, but they'd have to be way bigger than this egg from Maretta today to hatch a chick from, LOL.

Very similar egg color to what I am getting from my OE x WhAm cross... Blueish green leaning on the green side - hard color to describe.
My girl here - goes by the name of Sunshine(named by my 6yo DD)

The eggs on left...
Maretta laid her very first egg on her 23 week birthday today. It's dirty because she dropped it in the pen after sitting on the nest and "missing the drop", something I find common with that first egg. She is 1/2 BW Ameraucana and 1/2 EE:
This is a recent picture of Maretta:

Rumbull, your blues look like true Ameraucanas, not Easter Eggers. Very pretty.
Here is Maretta, then Shelby (who is an Olive Egger). They are 18 weeks old.

Everybody's EEs are so pretty. So far I have only one and I love her. But next year I will have more since I have a beautiful white Ameraucana rooster.
featherz Is the hen to the left of the pretty rooster a Sussex or an EE ?
I'm at 2000 ft and it's highly unusual for it to be like...
Thanks! These N. Ga. mtns are hotter than blazes right now! The humidity is about 100% with temps in the 80's-90's, bird-killing weather, for sure. My Dellie rooster almost died yesterday from it. It's like breathing water around here.
Here is Maretta, who is 1/2 Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and 1/2 EE. She is 16 weeks old:
Here is Shelby, 1/2 Wheaten Marans and 1/2 EE, so that makes her an Olive Egger:
Here is Ranger, 1/2 Delaware and 1/2 EE, and he needs a new home really soon:
Here's Ranger, 9 weeks old, an awesome little Delawegger (Del/EE cross). Have him up for rehoming on BSA. Isn't he cute? His broody mama decided she was done and he isn't thrilled by that so he needs a new home, but he should carry the blue egg gene due to that pea comb.
I have a couple of new Easter Egger pullets, the two keepers remaining from four that were hatched in The Big One of 2011 (big hatch, that is).
Meet Shelby, a Wheaten Marans roo over EE hen, so technically, she'll probably be an olive egger type of EE:
...and Maretta, sired by a blue...
Bandit is 8 weeks old now. Delaware x blue barred EE hen. He'll be up for rehoming soon. Maybe a Barred EE project? His mom is bearded and muffed and lays bluish green eggs.
