Oh thank you so much! So if my roo is splash and my girls are blue and black based would I only expect blues and splash as a result? I was really hoping for more blacks but that may not be possible without a different roo, correct?
I really appreciate your response!
I tried the chick feeder but most of mine have faces too big for the holes and can't get to all if it. I've seen people use plastic gutters mounted to the walls of their coops and it seems to help. I'm going to try this next. I have a cochin pullet who wears her FF daily. lol
I have a question but I wanted to let you guys know how excited I am to have my first quad of SFH!!! I picked them up today and they are in quarantine for now. Happy dance!
I was going over GFF's website and saw they have a pic of a heavily crested roo. His crest seems larger or as large as...
lol sorry, I was uploading from my phone. HA! He's the roo I liked but he threw me with his colors. Sweet, so I have my roo.
I appreciate you guys giving me feedback. I think I've decided on the quad I'm going to keep. I can hardly wait to see the first babies!
Thank
the second roo doesn't look like anything I've seen before, as Leigh said, the first has a huge crest. I would pass on both of them. if you can't find a roo with a normal single comb AND mottling (aka flowers) I would say take the hens and pass on the roos, we'll find you a better roo...
Finally! Here are some of the birds. There are 3 roosters and many hens of various coloring. The one roo with the odd comb is here as well. It could be the photo but I'll have to look again when I pick them up tomorrow.

Oh, congratulations! Spring really is baby season for you then. lol
I know there are several factors in pricing, including demand, competition, etc. I *think* these are under a year but will check on that. Some of them are really beautiful birds. I just tried to upload again and BYC is...
Can anyone tell me what a good price range is for a breeding quad of SFH would be? They are GFF stock. The roo is crested, one hen is crested and 2 aren't. They are varying colors. I know there are many variables but I'm curious what you've seen them going for?
I'd post a picture but I can't...
