Hey folks, I have an order for chicks from GF coming in tomorrow. I had asked Jenny at GF if their breeding pens all contained some crested and non-crested birds; she replied that all their breeders are crested. With the debate about breeding crested to crested birds I thought this might be...

LOL! That sounds like mine too. I have one cockerel we named Punt because I kept accidently kicking him! He is so underfoot!

I have the exact same experience. My SFHs range all over the pasture and out to the hay field. The forage great. And my poor silkie wanders around lost. They are also very quick to respond when I call for them. They all come running and my poor silkie stands in the middle of the field looking...

There must be some lines that are more difficult to sex than others. I seem to have gotten ones that are pretty easy. I have 7 with almost no combs and no wattles And another 7 with big red combs and wattles. So a pretty good split on sex.

I had a coon or something pull a pumpkin off the vine and out of the garden, so I gave it to my chicks. They ate holes the size of their heads in the side so they could get to the middle. Now all my crested birds look like they got into some hair gel!

She is a great Pyrenees and she is such an amazing dog. She is almost 2 now and she just has the greatest temperament. She is well mannered, sweet, keeps watch over my boys, gentle with the other animals. I just love her to death.

It all went well in the long run. But yeah, communication can be difficult at times. But I now have 15 beautiful chicks. Almost twice as many as I ordered. They are 5 weeks old now and growing great. They were a week behind and I didn't get a shipping number until after I called a couple...

Hi all, My chicks are abut two weeks old and seem to be from the "no band" line. I was wondering when you can start to tell if they are crested? Also, when does their adult coloring come in? Thanks, Tiffany!
