You can track egg production without disturbing the hens by trapnesting them.
Walt
Walt,
I would love to trap nest some pullets to see who is laying what egg but haven't come up with a good plan for a trap nest and am assuming to buy them would be more than I care to pay. I love...

Where are you & do you have an incubator or know someone that can hatch for you? I have had some really bad luck with shiped eggs but have also had some nice hatches too. I believe the less distance they travel the better chance they have normally. I am in California & the eggs I got...

What a deal.......you sell me some nice Dominique eggs & you can use that egg money to buy hatching eggs for another breed from a breeder you chose......LOL

Thank you Jake I will check out that thread..............It's not like I need anymore chcikens or anything. I just can't help thinking that it would be a good thing to do to support an old breed that is in jeopardy.
Where is the BEST place to get a list of what is truely cosidered "Heritage" breeds? I know some are considered endangered. I have magazines that mention some but the information I have read in them on other subjects is not always the best so I would like a more reliable source.
Thanks

I too was disappointed in not seeing more of some birds represented but this was my first show so I really didn't know what to expect. I think I only saw 1 Delaware & one of the friends I was with & I both have Delawares. I bought mine from her & she has been working with them awhile. I...
