If the taxes keep rising, I would think most of us would sell all our homes and pack into an RV with "carryalong" coop in the back and visit all the parks in the US!

Yes it does! That way any animal that poops less for what they are taking in is the best thing. If they eat and poop more to make up for the ones they don't utilize the feed, change feed.

I've been finding less and less discounted meats at the stores nowadays. Looks like leaner times will be ahead of us in due time!

Heather, go and buy a hunting rifle, bag a deer, bring back to butcher shop to be processed, a win win for both businesses LOL!

Well, count us back in...hubby will be laid off. Its only a matter of days when he will get the pink slip or the transfer to CAT plant. Got 2/3 of the freezer full and plenty of canned goods. I would have to shop more on meats.

Great job, Heather! Nothing wrong with the panic attack when you do have extras coming in! I am not aware or have done the mortage thing by renting it out. Someone will come along and give you a better outlook on that if it is a good thing. I would say additional insurance may be a good...

There was a show last night or the night before about food hoarders. It just amazes me how one woman could store so much food. Her father was a grocer. Such a waste of gathering up pasta way past its expiration date....do you know what the organizer said? Throw it away! I was about to have a...

Ive purchased those Glad containers or something similar to it. If you look at it, its easy to use but horrible for microwaves and ovens. For Christmas, hubby bought me some glass containers with plastic covers of different sizes from Pyrex. Yes it is a bit costly but much safer and less waste...

I agree but the cushions are made of foam, so I have to find something that would "lift" it out of the chair. The springs in the seats are OK but sagging a bit but nothing like a good ol cushion can pad it more. I love my old chair.....it "fits" me perfectly! Todays recliners dont have the...

I know but his doctor said he has a clean bill of health! Its only a matter of time before we know the bad effects of his strange diet!

Anyone recycled their beloved rocker recliner? Sure a few holes from wear and tear but the bones of it works well. I would love to "recycle" mine to get more miles of rocking and it fits me perfectly. The seat has been sucken a bit, so I put a comforter on top of it and a sheet to cover the...

He likes Gatorade but only in the hot weather or when he is out reenacting. Water or chocolate milk (when on sale but rare) is all he drinks. Likes rootbeer when he goes out to eat dinner. He always order grilled cheese and fries from the kids menu but for Steak n Shake, he can order adult size...

Not at all Froggie, not at all! I'm curious too, since it defies the medical status on diets LOL! When he was growing up, he LOVED hamburgers until around the age of seven to eight years old. His dad told me that it was just suddenly he decided not to eat hamburgers. Just peanut butter...

Have any of you ever stock up "for a year" for staples that would last a while? I know canned goods for the family of two (hubby is strictly peanut butter sandwich, eats NO veggies (except ff), no fruits no meat). I would buy canned goods for 35 to 49 cents a piece for GG green beans. I bought...

My hubby got creative. He hung a clothesline from the carport post to the branch of the maple tree. I love the smell of fresh air into those bedsheets! As for undies and unmentionables, I would hang them in the hallway clothesline. No need for the neighbors to eyeball those LOL!

Hey nothing wrong with smelling freshly baked bread....you would attract flies (people) wanting to sit next to you!

I do have lines inside my house, in the short hallway! Hubby made me one when my dryer went out. Does a great job drying my clothes during the winter and it would humidfy the house. I loved it! Consisted of short wood dowels, drilled holes and using cotton clothesline, five times across...

Quote: politicians aren't much different either side of the pond. happy to take our money and spend it where they decide. sure they know better how to spend it than we do. certainly quick to tell us it's for our own good. more than enough waste and foolishness to go around. and you're...

Hope to pay off hubby's truck in our income tax, that means more money to free up to do other things. I know we need new tires and minor repairs that is needed to be done on the vehicles. I can not seeing buying used tires because many of the garage owners said that is the worst thing to do for...
