I learn more from my failures than my successes. I'm glad somebody pointed us in the right direction now instead of letting us flounder until we gave up.
I'm starting over with my Cream Legbar roo. Can I cross him to my RIR hens to get F1 chicks, the either cross the F1 x F1 or cross F1 back to a Legbar to re-establish the autosexing trait?
Oh . . . . I read somewhere that you could substitute RIR in place of brown Leghorn but otherwise follow the chart.
Thank you! Still reading through everything you posted trying to absorb what it all means.
Yes, Cream Legbars lay blue eggs, but an autosexing olive egger is just fine with me!
I took a male black sex link roo (RIR male x BR female) crossed to a female RIR. This cross is resulting in black, white, and red chicks. The handy dandy chart doesn't show white chicks as an option. Hmmmmm . . . . . (These are all hatchery birds.) I'm getting aproximately 80% black, 17%...
Ok, this is not sitting right with me that GFF Rhodebars are on their third generation? Weren't they imported as pure? So then why would GFF be counting generations of pure?
