    yeah I am lazy too LOL ..I went ahead and bought the set up w/sun covers... I am sure I will have to pull it in the winter, but I have less birds then anyway.. Thanks again

    a min of 10 sq feet per bird ... so at least 100 to 120 sq ft .. or at least 10x 10' , 10x 12' ... but more is better

    I had looked at the site before. I stopped looking because they use 1" sq wire and I have weasels that could go through that. I built a hoop coop instead.

    I used an apron of hardware cloth instead of digging it down.. I used landscape fabric pins to hold it down until the grass grows through it . Then you can't even see it and if there was any need you could mow high over it... you can sort of see it still on the right side of this hoop coop from...

    open air poultry coops were the normal .. good ventilation is the most important thing to chickens.. not sure where people got the idea that most chickens need heat in the winter... the hot weather is harder on them than cold... my GGP was on my parents property until a century took it's toll on...
