I agree, lots of ideas on site to build something inexpensive and use repurposed materials.

Keep new baby chicks in as much as possible. So far my coon & possum problems come at night. And everbody is in hen house by then. Have a specialty trap for coons and possums.

Done. Sewing, threading, bending, stretching....scratching, cutting, injuring....it's a wrap. Holding any bantams older than 3 months. Now I can leave the property and not have to worry to terribly much. Next month going to add c purlin across top perpenducular to drill stem ceiling rafters...

Rebuilding pen Tore down old one. Whewee!!

I saw the nesting boxes with angled roofs. Am going to work in nestung area. Does make it easy to clean.

Still pretty bare on inside. Mostly 5 gallon buckets, 1 double nesting box and some pine saplings for roost. Have gotten lots of ideas from site. Still a labor of love. Little at a time.

Here is my homemade hen house. All from repurposed material. Not real fancy, but has lots of love and loads of learning. And the chickens love it.
