Totally agree a little silkie hen is the best incubator. They will hatch anything you put under them when broody, except golf balls. My problem is they get broody far too often. At which time I put them in a seperate cage with own water and food. For approximately 3 days which seems to break...
Not much more rain on sw slopes today. Little silkies still in the chook house. Don’t want to come out in the cold. Hope for sunshine tomorrow so they can free range in the paddock for a while. Veb
I too am a new member, trying to work things out. Little 6 acres in southern New South Wales. Have three pet silkies that I love to bits, Featherfoot the rooster, Amber because that’s her colour, and Little Damsel the black one, sadly little buttercup passed away earlier this week. Still sad...
