Thanks!! Each pen is 2 x 3 floor space. They are 3 feet tall in the back and slope down to 2 1/2 in the front. I just did that for rain runoff and shade for the birds. There is a 2"x2" roost in each pen. The metal feeders work great. No spilling at all. The waterers are not perfect. I...

We added rooster pens to the coop. I didn't realize when planning our chicken castle that I would need small individual cages for roosters not being used, single matings, hurt birds, chicks, etc. It comes in handy to have some small pens ready for those unforeseen things. Took us two months to...

Thank you! Of course when we started it I could not imagine ever needing more pens. I am all excited about a new project and suddenly wondering if I need more space. Why is that always the way???

Thank you all! It has been a ton of work but it is so awesome. I tell people that it is my chicken exhibit at the Worlds Fair. lol! @ afveteran88 It is a Wagner Twin Stroke. It works great. We painted our whole house inside and out with it. Maybe there are different models? Here is a...

Thanks! They are still small enough that they don't knock stuff over yet. And there is only 6 of them so there is not the feeding frenzy mentality....yet. lol But I will be adding auto waterers and feeders soon.

Almost done!!! The roof is on, the doors are on. One nest box is done. No roosts yet dang it. But soon! The kids just HAD to put the straw in. They were rolling around on it. Not something they will be wanting to do when it is full of chicken poop. Now I will have to clean up this...

Ugh I am pooped!! lol I put a little block of wood up there so there will be something to attach the other side of the latch. Gonna go to the hardware store and figure out what kind of lock will work the best after I get the thing up in the coop.

I managed to work a little under a tarp and in between cloud bursts. Look what I made!!! All by myself. My husband left the tools at home and I had a party!! My 3 year old daughter was a big help holding things for me while I screwed them together. This is the view from the front. The...

Big *SIGH*... super rainy today. I was hoping to get the doors painted that my husband put together last night. I have to paint one side, let it dry paint the other side, let it dry. Then we put on the wire...then we install them. I gotta work for the next couple days and won't get...

And then this morning we started putting the wire on. We used heavier gauge wire for the first 4 feet and then small chicken wire for the next 4 feet. We also used chicken wire for the inside dividers. This took ALL day! And today was super hot. Whew... It seems like we are so close but we...

So here is what the pens looked like last night. It was too dark for pics. I had started painting this by hand and decided "heck no!". I waited for my husband to have time to paint with the paint sprayer thing. It was so much faster! We painted it farm shed green. Or... John Deere green.

Sigh... a whole week with no progress. We have been so busy with work. My husband calculated what the roofing would cost on this size pen and he thinks about 1000.00 Where I live in Hawaii most roofs are made of tin because we catch our water and store it in large tanks. We already have all...

My little "time out" pen is actually inside the larger pen with the other chicks she hatched with. I wondered if the others would nibble away at the pipe cleaners? She is a TERRIBLE tail feather plucker. She doesn't bother the ones who already have their tails but there are three cockerels...

Quote: yeah we might add that stuff too. lol!!! Hey I spotted milk jugs with the front cut out in your rooster pens. I love that economical idea. I had to separate a pullet today from the rest in a smaller cage. She kept knocking over the chick size waterer and food dish that I put in...
