Mine has the same copper on the wings as the boy on your 1st picture but his colouring is almost the same as the cockerel in the second picture. Do you think it is common for marans cockerels to be mean? mine has biten my hand several times now for no apparent reason.

I've been out and given him a look over and his primary feathers do have copper on them and also the copper is on his chest going down his legs. It is not entirely copper on the primary feathers, there is a bit of white and grey also, same with the chest and legs, the copper is just splashes...
