Please don't let the judgemental people put you off. There is plenty of that here, but there are also many friendly people willing to help. I have no doubt that time and traning will make a huge difference in your dog's behavior around the chickens.
There are many, many posts on BYC about training dogs to leave chickens alone. There are also lots of other resources on the internet. I would suggest that the dog does not have unsupervised access to the chickens until you've had a chance to work with her. Either keep her locked up or tied up...
