Great Poem!!!

the storm is not good for us that is for sure but i do hope all this preperation and perspiration will make it easier on us if the storms are bad... all the chicks are in the run/coop :) i will put them in the coop for a couple days while the storm rolls through... no free ranging for the next...

after the hawk came threw the hens didnt want to get near the house this afternoon when it was time for them to come in... i had to do lots of coaxing for them to get on in, but they did! cooked the soybeans and they enjoyed dinner even more :)

dang it... i was excited cause they are eating them... i mixed a bit of millet with them... i dont wanna feed them any toxic stuff... thank you for the insight

We were sooooooooo excited to see a big pile of Soy Beans beside our house where the farmer had spilled when they were loading up the truck after harvest!!! i went and asked the neighbor/land owner if we could have them, and she had no problem saying yes!!! (she loves our chickens) extra snacks...

We have 3 of Frank Perdues Finest, 2 hens and our boy "BLuie", 6 RiR Hens, and 3 Golden Lakenvelders... The new Coop will definatly be put to the test if we do get it... Maybe the Big Guy will make sure i built it well... you know his Son was a carpenter and i am sure He will keep a good check...

We are still waiting patiently for eggs and now waiting for the storm Sandy that is coming up the coast... we live near the Chesapeake Bay and the ocean... The Delmarva Penninsula looks as if it will be hit by the Hurricane... Just hope that everyone is Safe through the storm :) God bless...

i put a rock that has the perfect shape of an egg into one of my nesting boxes and now i do believe i am down to the last few days or week for the egg process to begin :) But i am definatly still buying eggs LOL
