Forgot to mention, I spoke with the pathologist and he said that gapes are rare in chickens and didn't know off the top of his head how to treat for them.
I will re-read all of your posts then look in my poultry disease books and see if anything looks the same. If you can think of anything else that might help, please post it.
You make a good point... I've had hundreds of chickens and I have never suspected gapeworms, but I have had issues bacterial, fungal and respiratory diseases.
I have to call the pathologist today, so I'm going to ask him about gapeworms, just for grins.
If you want to give the maximum recommended dose, you need to know exactly how much she weighs. If she does weigh 5 pounds, she should get 1.1cc's of Safeguard. Can you take a picture of the inside of her mouth and post it?
If you gave her the correct amount for her weight, it should have worked for on intestinal worms, not sure about gape. How much does she weigh? Did you look at the fenbendazole info in the link that I sent?
How much does she weigh? I give .5cc/kg by mouth, but I've never treated for gapeworm.
