I think they are easter eggers. If they are, you will love them. Mine lay every day, summer and winter, nice large blue or green eggs.

I use that orange plastic "fencing" they use for soil erosion control on construction sites. (Lay strips of it across the fencing. It's very cheap and it keeps the hawks at bay. I have EE's, lay the most and largest eggs of my mixed crew, very friendly. Just love them. I had one brahma who died...

Thanks for the information. I give all flock grower, a little calf manna, sun flower seed and free choice oyster to my hens. I think I'll keep pullets on the medicated for at least the ten weeks as I already have it. They also safely "free range". I've had them about a week and one had a bit of...

    Backyard Brahmas!!

Yes I have an 18 week old, and I actually call her my ugly duckling. However, she is the sweetest of my flock and loves nothing better than sitting in my lap or being held. When not, she is constantly eating. Found out recently that she won't mature until close to 10 months.

    Backyard Brahmas!!

A breeder on another site also said that they may not mature until 10+ months. This assuaged my fears. Thanks for responding.

    Backyard Brahmas!!

Hey K9Dave, I spoke to you on other sites and am having trouble wading through the brahma sites. I have six chickens (brahma, spec suss, aust, ee, orpin, lace wyan). The brahma and aust are 2 weeks younger than the other chickens. They are about 18 weeks old at this point. I also think the Aust...
