Just drooling over her. Maybe you should find out what kind of roo to breed her with to maintain similar coloring. I would be first in line for those eggs!
Brahmas seem to be all over the spectrum for laying. My other girl was an early bird and she started in at 5 months. She took a few...
I'd say that's exactly right. So sorry you had some DOA! That's why I'm getting my new ones from a breeder. I can't take that.
At two weeks, I'm not sure if they'll eat that much variety, but I know they would like scrambled eggs. We gave ours mealworms at that age, as well as some rolled...
There is nothing not to love about Brahmas! Excepyt maybe when you have birds with white foot feathers and mud in the yard.
I have not had a Brahma roo personally, but I've heard so many good things from people who do, and I've never heard of anyone having a bad experience with one. They say...
Could you get a clearer picture of the saddle? That would help determine, but I wouldn't be so quick to label this bird a roo.
One of my light Brahmas (Georgie) had a bright red comb and fast-growing wattles at that age, and she made suspicious noises. She had us fooled right up until the...
Hi, all!
I apologize, you're probably sick of hearing about Georgie. (Don't worry, I'm not offended )
But, I made a slideshow that I thought ya'll might like to see. It's long, but you can watch the first minute or two, if you like.
Thank you all for your kind words. It is so nice to have people who understand what it's like! Kitty is doing better today, she is eating a little more. Yesterday I made her scrambled eggs, and she spent the night inside in the bathroom. She is sitting on my lap as I write this. Definitely...
I only have experience with chicks from Cackle hatchery, however I have great birds and I see no reason not to reccommend them for Brahmas. My girls are actually colored like Brahmas, they are about 7 lbs. each, and they're laying like crazy... Just sayin'. :)
So I have a quick question for you all. At what age did your Brahma hens start laying at? One of mine was 5 months on the dot, and another was about 50 weeks. However, she never laid any pullet eggs, no fart eggs, just jumped right in, laying jubo-sized pink-yes legit pink-eggs.
What was...
Haha, yep, that's the chicken sweater prototype. None have been made since, as it didn't fit her, um, sizeable hips, and we had to cut it off her. She's saying, "does this make my chicken butt look too fluffy?"
So gald you led me to this thread. I look forward to hanging out with you guys...
