Torrelee- That chick definitely is a cross... and therefore I"ll withhold judgment. But - based on the fact that that comb appears more single than pea I think you're safe. Most single combs enlarge early in cockerels.
Newmarch- His saddle feathers are starting to come in nicely. Still nothing on mine yet. I'm thinking more and more that it's a hen with a very wide comb. I'll post update pics soon, of both my girls. ;-)
New Moarch- wow those tail feathers and saddles are coming in. I see lots of pointy feathers..and those itty bitty waddles. Awww... teenagers. LOL

Yup. That's why I was so concerned. I've seen it go both ways, so as long as it stays flat and peachy I'm still counting it as a pullet. If it's a roo I may have 3/4 birds be roos that were supposed to be all pullets... EEK!
I can't seem to get a shot straight on with this bird. None of them want to be held right now. They are in that teenage phase of being super independent. I don't like having to chase them down, either! Sheesh.

Does being fully feathered (Well, all except the pin feathers under the wings anyway) by 7 weeks have anything to do with brahmas being cockerel or pullet? This little one is at 6.5wks here...
