If I remember right I had to change every couple weeks ( I haven't used them since last spring) I put them on loose, just enough that they can't slip off the feet. I've tried the stretchy rubber band ones and they're able to get those off. And I definitely check regularly. I did have some...

My theory ( and I know nothing so don't take me seriously ) is that it's probably a throwback from the wild partridge game fowl ancestry of the breed. Only time will tell, though.

Well mine showed up from Cackle last week all punky and healthy. Not sure about that light chipmunk one. I banded the two chipmunks so I can watch how they feather out from the others. So excited!!

Exactly! I've tried asking on some poultry fb groups for opinions on Buckeyes from different hatcheries and all I got were suggestions and opinions for other dual purpose birds, like Delawares.. If I were looking for other breeds I wouldn't be asking specifically about Buckeyes! There's a...

yeah, I've checked him out, he's got a good line that would probably work for me, but I can't afford his prices. Maybe if he sold hatching eggs I could, but he doesn't... :(

The breeders list on the Club page says there's a Stoney Creek Farm listed in OK, but their website says they've stopped breeding Buckeyes.. The Club list seems a little old. Alot of pages and listings I've found seem old.

I'm having a hard time finding breeders south of Ohio, and figure I need to find birds that have been bred somewhere that spends some time at least in the upper 90's in the summer. Except for big hatcheries like Cackle. Privett in NM and Ideal in TX have them but I would assume anything coming...

Hi! Planning ahead for spring... I've been wanting to get some Buckeyes for years. I tried ordering some from Meyer last Fall and they all arrived dead.. :( Won't be making that mistake again. I'm looking for certain characteristics and I guess I should be a bit more picky on a source...
