Howdy louisiana and welcome to the thread. Based on what these folks have told me, I could use another male for my 3 girls. If it weren't too late to add to my order, I'd likely add another male :)
Thanks everyone for the words of wisdom and advice. I'm sure by next year I will have this all sorted out and will want another male. For now, I want to get this angel wing under control before I place the ones I have. I unwrapped it last night after about 3 days and it looks a little better...
Well unfortunately Metzer is sold out of Toulouse for the season now. I just got lucky since my order was smallish that they could accomodate me. I would if I could but can't. . LOL Maybe I will get lucky on CL with another male Toulouse someday : | I'll just have to cross fingers he can...
LOL! I suspect ya'll are bird enablers......master plan to get me to keep all the babies
I just called Metzer. She assured me that one gander can cover 3 geese. I was about to order another male and she said naaa you don't need one. Meanwhile I will run a Craigslist ad and see what happens.
LOL You gonna stop by and help build yet another pen? The funny part is I have a huge barn. But. It would need repairing to predator proof to my standards, AND its not close enough to the house for my comfort. I like having them close by :)
Perhaps if I put the Toulouse in their own pen, with separate nests for the girls and let the gander stay with all 3? Would be glad to have some input now before it even becomes an issue. I'm curious too thanks for the input.
Thanks for having a look for me servpolice. I was sort of afraid they were both males based on their behavior. The larger one is much sweeter and more friendly than the smaller one, but then I do mess with him more due to wrapping the angel wing. I am getting 4 Toulouse goslings from metzer...
Greetings. I received 2 geese with a package of birds I got about 8 weeks ago. I was fairly sure they were African geese until I looked harder at the brown Chinese goose. One of them is MUCH bigger than the other (the one with the wrapped wings) so now I am unsure. They are both very alert...
