Nothing seems to be working for me. Every day a large pile of mushy poop under her roost. I think I am going to try one more round of safeguard and then the butter milk and eggs.
@casportponyShe has has safeguard 1ml for 5 days, she has had Corid and also tylan. Would any vet be able to do that? I am not finding any chicken vets near me I basically live in the suburbs.
I really don't know what is going on. She still poops 10 times as much as the other two chickens. In the morning on the poop board there is a huge wet pile of pudding like poo under her. It soaks the sweet pdz in the tray. The other two have normal looking and amount of poo under them. I can...
Mine still has some odd poo, not as watery as before. She has started gaining weight again and new feathers are coming in well. I am starting to think there was not really a problem, just a combination of factors, weather change, molt, new bird introduced and also a feed change all within a...
This was today the third day of safeguard and the sixth day of corid. Pretty safe to say neither is working. Guess I'm looking for a chicken vet tomorrow. My sister in law is a tech at the animal shelter but the mainly just do cats and dogs. Not sure if they are a hospital or not.
This was tonight's deposit before heading to bed. The outline is about where the water was out to. Weighed her again 3.8lbs.
On another note, my BSL Maggie laid her first egg yesterday!!! I didn't even see it but there were two in the box tonight. That's her in my profile pick. She replaced what...
This is what I am using
I use a 1ml syringe with no needle and give it to them by mouth. It can also be mixed in the water - Kathy has links to the proper dosages
She is a Gold Comet, and as far as I know she is about 9 months old - I got her mid-July and she laid an egg a week later. Maybe she is older and it was just stress/shock and had already been laying?
That's what alerted me to the problem, I had not picked her up in a while and when I did she was noticeably lighter. She is also in the process of molting, most of her new feathers are about 1" long. I was feeding her layer pellets but switched to flock raiser since only one of three was laying...
I use a digital fishing scale to weigh the chicken in a bucket, then subtract the weight of the bucket. She was over 5lbs when I got her and Sunday she was 3.9. I will weigh her again tonight.
If I need to then that's what I will do. The poop seems to be less watery after 3 days of corid but...
Can I give my chicken safeguard and corid at the same time? Maybe one in the morning and one in the evening? She has had runny poop for longer than 8 days and she still is alive so I am starting to lean away from cocci. I started the corid by mouth 3 days ago and poop is still runny. I tried...
