Our 19-20 week old Red Sex Link laid the first egg. She started squatting the same day I posted on BYC for the first time and four maybe five days later we got our first egg.- calimom80

Finally got our first egg! So exciting. Thank you to the other BYC members for suggesting I open up the nesting boxes. She laid a perfect small brown egg right next to the fake egg. Yay!!!- calimom80

Who else is waiting for that first egg?
I have a mixed flock of five. My oldest two are a White Plymouth Rock and a Buff Brahma both around 20-22 weeks old. The other three are an Easter Egger, a Red SexLink, and a Buff Orpington. They are 1-2 weeks behind the oldest two. I know Brahmas mature a little later so I'm not expecting eggs...- calimom80
