I have sego lilies that pop up every spring but I never knew what they were until you mentioned them. I looked them up and my yearly question was answered!
Like Breinflannel said Herbs make birds happy. I'm guessing anything we could grow and eat would make them happy. Once my raspberry bushes fill in and spread I'll be adding those too. I do wish we had a longer growing season so we could have a larger variety!
If you plan on grabbing sage from the roadside be sure to beat the bejezus out of it. The ticks out in full force this year!
I have juniper and will be adding sage and wild grass to my quail pen. Perfect "hiding" spots.
I've noticed there have been a lot of raptor attacks where we walk our dogs. You can see it's the big birds from the patterns around the carnage. Think they are trying to make up for slim pickings this winter.
