I found some quilted backing and some velour kind of fabric that is hard to put a needle through. I made her a "coat" with the velour stuff being what is touching her and an outer shell of some cotton with the quilted backing sandwiched in between. I even had some sew on velcro. It ain't pretty...
Sadly I think for my naked hen the new feathers trying desperately to grow in would get stuck in the knit and be uncomfortable.
However I am going to go look in my sewing stuff for any quilted material. Perhaps I can make her a coat of sorts.
I too am curious. I have an older leghorn that is nearly naked in temps well below zero.
I was not going to heat the coop but did put a radiant heater in there since she is so very naked and our temps have been down to -14.
She looks so down right miserable.
