The usual rule for chicken coops is 1 square foot of ventilation per adult, standard-size hen.
IMO, the best test is to check inside the coop on a warm, sunny day. If it's hotter inside than out you need more ventilation.
In a wet climate where ventilation is critical you might consider a Monitor Roof. Mine is storm-proven, having come through Hurricane Florence bone-dry inside.
