Hmmm. I just don't know. I haven't had one look like that. Does it smell? ETA: It doesn't really look black on the outside. Maybe you have a dark colored baby in there that is making the shell look darker and the air sac area looks odd in contrast because it's empty.

If you are talking about them being black as in all full on the inside except for the air sac, then that is completely normal. The baby should just about completely fill the shell except for the air cell when it is hatching time. I've never had duck eggs turn fully black on the shells before...
