I had a feeling it was a cockerel. He came out of the egg screaming, pecks everything in sight, and has no self preservation skills, typical boy. The person I got his mother from said her Silkie roo (my chick's grandpa) was SUPER LOUD.

Smudge (Silkie X Barred Rock) hatched three days ago and it appears it may have stunted/malformed wings. I can't really tell, I don't know that much about wing development. I swear it is nearly impossible to get good pics of a chick's wings! Here's Smudge vs. its 2 day old sibling
