    I've had my hens accidently break eggs and eat them in the nests, on the coop floor and in the chicken yard. I haven't gotten rid of my gals. They see an opportunity to eat a good, fresh egg and they take it.

    I have 3 that always sleep crammed togethetr on the lid of the feed can. Can't keep them off it. Now I am having one or two sleep with their butts in the nest facing out. So I have poop to clean every morning too. Just have to either close the boxes off and take the can out or live with it. I...

    I found that as long as the roosts are the highest thing in the coop, they'll settle there. Their natural instinct is safety is higher. If your nests are higher or the same level as the roost, try moving one so the roost is the highest thing in the coop.
