My thought being that if your fan is blowing into the bulbs, the fan is just drawing the air directly from the hole at the other end, pulling the warm air straight across the close wall without circulating it into the egg area.

Which way is your fan blowing, into the section with the bulbs or into the section with the eggs? Try reversing it or adding a second fan to see.
