    I think a couple of things like scaly leg mites will spread more with extended contact in close living quarters vs. incidental contact, which means quarantine may still save a lot of trouble down the road. Much easier to treat one bird than an entire flock.

    If you catch, quarantine. I think recommended is at least two weeks separate to ensure no signs of any illness, normal poop, physical checks for feather mites, lice, or scaly leg mites.
