First chick has zipped halfway, you can see her struggling here and there but she has stopped zipping. Her fluff is starting to dry which worries me. I jacked the humidity up to 70% but not sure what else if anything I should do.its been a few hours since she stopped zipping. Suggestions?

I'm afraid to do the float test! LOL I have 6 eggs waiting for Sunday to hatch but I'm pretty sure one of them is no good, leaving it in there for daughter's benefit. The other five are still rocking and wiggling so I'm happy.

I believe you'll find yourself less stressed if you do. Could you post some pics of them? My hatch day isn't till Sunday and that he anticipation is making me almost jittery.

Awesome! Sounds like your doing good so far, just keep the trays filled and I believe you should be ok. I have a hydrometer/ thermometer in mine to keep track.

What is your humidity set at and is it possible it could be some dried blood from pipping? I had that happen with my very first chick and thought it was dry too but just blood drying. She still had a ways to go before being ready to hatch.
