I think the point of my reply was missed. It is not desirable to retain heat in a coop. It is desirable to remove moisture and ammonia and keep drafts off the birds. They are well equipped to keep themselves warm.

Chickens need DRY, lots of fresh air and draft free to keep themselves warm. This looks like a fun engineering experiment but not very practical for the chickens or the keeper.
