Still need help on #1 and #4, bantams

Also, I was there once when they were stocking the chicks and I was able to inspect their shipping packages. There were a LOT of dead chicks in their mailing boxes. It was sad.

I bought them from Rural King and they said they only use hoovers. But hoovers contracts out, don't they? It's not all under one roof and set of eyes. I think that's why their chicks are of such varying breed quality, and why there are so many mysteries and pure breeds that aren't bred true...

The white laced red cornish is gorgeous! And seriously minuscule. She's one of my least friendly but I love to look at her.

Here is 'Austin' now. He was such a good surprise. My daughters favorite chicken was 'Gilbert', a porcelain D'uccle. He was murdered by a rampaging rooster last year. So now that we happened to get another D'uccle bantam cockerel she is so pleased.

Pretty positive numbers 2/3 turned out to be golden necked d'uccles! Definitely unexpected!

So #2 is older. It seems to be a variety (or really poorly bred) of d'uccle! Not a brahma or cochin! What do you think?

You're right on #4! Now that he/she has feathers it's definitely matching up. So pretty!!

They have light brahma bantams in their catalog! If I remember right anyways.

So in checking hoovers again, they don't have Spangled, so it'll have to be a black breasted red. As for #4, RIR bantam, they don't have those. Maybe it was a different chick from another bin? The only others I can remember were white leghorns and rainbow dixies, all seperated. Usually they have...

#1 seemed so unique, I'm really bummed. I've never had a RIR...didn't even know they did bantams. Not sure if hoovers has that kind of bantam though. I'll double check.

#1 died this morning, but the rest are healthy. They aren't eating great though.

#5, oegb, perhaps a black breasted red oegb?

Number 2 and 3 Perhaps light brahma bantams? Still hoping they're porcelain d'uccle, but they seem too dark.

Assorted bantam chicks from Hoover's hatchery, in a mixed bin at farm store... And one (#4) that was in the bantam bin but I don't know what it is, not sure it's a bantam. #1 has bare legs and a flat comb, otherwise I thought a dark oegb. It is miniscule. (Chick died, but still wondering what...
