    There could be something going on that's preventing the duckling from making more progress...I hope it's nothing serious, but sometimes a late hatcher has a problem like a deformity that makes hatching difficult. Again, that may not be the case at all, but I personally like to be prepared...

    I've only had one cracked and repaired egg hatch to date, but it clearly can be done. I use Liquid Bandage, which is probably even more pungent than nail polish. Best of luck with your egg!
