I'm so sorry to hear about that. Just remember you gave her a wonderful life.
I wish that the hybrid layers didn't have to suffer from their awesome laying ability (I've got a few of them myself).
The rest of the flock likely notice the change. I know other birds are sad when they loose...
I'm so sorry, that can be very hard. Our dog was sick for a long while, it was hard to see him that way, but when he perked up it was so wonderful to see him play and run around like a puppy.
Yeah, that is a concern. I'm not expert on deworming (I've never done it for my flock) so perhaps asking some one else if it would hurt her would help.
It just lets you know that the worms aren't the cause, or, if they are, gets rid of them. Worms weaken a chicken, even if they aren't the cause of the disease.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Make sure she remains warm, try worming her, and offer her probiotics. She may not feel well because the antibiotics killed off all the good bacteria in her gut. Hopefully she will start feeling better again soon.
Hens lay every 25 hours, and I hear that they lay an hour later every day and when they reach evening they restart by skipping a day. At least that's what I hear.
Best of luck with the vet trip!
If its a broken egg then it could be cured, however if its Water Belly (liver failure) then I'm not sure if there is anything you can do.
I do hope she gets better.
I'm glad she's doing so well!

Best of luck!
The Golden Comets do tend to get more problems in life, like water belly or other problems. We lost one to egg binding and three to a mysterious illness that didn't effect any of the other breeds we had. They are very friendly, and pretty, and good egg layers, but they are bred to be productive...
My guess is that huge egg just hurt really bad! OUCH!
Egg binding can lead to lethargic hens and leg problems, since the egg may press on nerves.
I'm so glad she's feeling better.
I'm sorry to hear that.
It sounds like she is sick. She could be molting, could just be stressed from being bullied, but the symptoms seem slightly more than that. Older laying hens can sometimes get weaker, since they put so much into laying in the past. She may be genetically weaker, and...
