The pipped hole has only gotten slightly bigger overnight ... It is now rocking and chirping but it keeps pecking at the already pipped hole. I'm trying my best not to assist but I'm so anxious that it is malpositioned. It's been this way for almost 4 hours now. :barnie
Yes the incubator hygrometer is off. The humidity was actually 19% while I was running it dry and my incubator said it was 50%... Now it is 70% and the incubator says 41%... I candled my little egg as soon as I got home today and saw it trying to pip a hole!! So hopefully I'll see a hole...
Okay so I'm having more doubts I guess you would say... There's a little bump in my air sac but it doesn't look like an internal pip... Also, it isn't chirping but I still see movement... But it isn't rocking at all either. It is only Day 19 but I'm concerned about the bump in the air cell. I...
Okay, I bought the hygrometer and I'm doing the salt test right now... I'm pretty sure the one in my incubator isn't accurate because even though there isn't any water in the incubator it is still reading 44%.
Okay I will definitely the test the new one when I get it.... I just hope it hatches well because it's been progressing really well and I see it moving in the egg which makes me even more excited ... My fingers are crossed
My incubator is in my dining room which we don't use... It only has a few windows and doesn't get much sunlight in there... The room isn't any more humid then the rest of my house so I don't know what is offsetting my humidity.
I have 6 other eggs that are only on Day 5 because I got excited when I saw how produced my one egg is... I had others with the most produced one but they didn't look like they were producing so I threw them out, not wanting them to explode.
Sorry, I couldn't get the greatest pictures. My humidity has been reading 39%-45% during the incubation... But that is the reading on my incubator's hydrometer ... I've been wanting to get a separate hydrometer but have been too busy... Although, I'm pretty sure that I'm getting one today.
It is Day 17 for my little chick and I candled her this morning and the air sac looked the size of a Day 7 air sac! I don't know what to do! I know that it is probably because my humidity is too high but I've barely put any water in the bottom of my Little Giant incubator.
