It really is hard. I called so many places when I was rehoming my boys, and it was really frustrating because I never seemed to get anywhere. There seems to be a lot of people trying to rehome roosters recently, so pretty much every sanctuary is full.

No, it's a sanctuary in NY. It's called Stonehouse Wood Sanctuary. You could try calling the owner, Kathleen Knight. I'm not sure if they have room for more roosters, but you could definitely try.

I actually found a sanctuary that will take both of them!

I have two very sweet little cockerels that I need to rehome. I live in NY, but I'm not far from MA so I can drive them if necessary. They are 6 weeks old right now, and they are Easter Egger/Black Australorp mixes hatched from my own flock. Their parents are both very strong and healthy, and...

I know chest bumping is not an accurate way to determine sex. I have a D'Uccle hen that tries to fight my EE rooster. 😂 But with these two, I'm 100% sure they're boys. There's no doubt about it. Everything about them screams cockerel to me.

Yeah, I'm sure. They're combs have already started growing, and they keep chest bumping each other.

I have 2 cockerels (both 2 weeks old right now) that need to be rehomed once they're old enough. They are Easter Egger/Black Australorp mixes hatched from my own flock. I'm willing to give them away for free, as long as they will be well taken care of. I don't want these boys to end up as...

I hope so too! It's always hard with cockerels, because some people can't have them or don't want them, and those that do already have boys. I'm glad you found someone to take yours.

Yeah, I get what you mean. Although, I do have another option if I can't find someone to take a cockerel. There is a farm sanctuary not too far away and there is also an SPCA near me that takes chickens.

Yes, I know it's hard to rehome boys, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. This would be a very small hatch, so hopefully I'll only end up with one boy anyway, which should make it easier. My chickens are pets, so I could never eat them. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just I...

Hi, I don't live in MA, but I am very close to the border. I'm posting on here because I want to hatch some chicks, but I can't keep any boys. So, before I hatch, I want to see if there is anyone interested in taking a possible boy? I could also add an extra girl or two if I hatch them. The...
