    Cat stalking chickens?!!

I agree with you all. I really hope this cat isn't a stray though because when I went to go pet it when it was in my yard it ran "for its life" well as if it where running for its life accrost a really busy street far in front of my woods and almost got ran over, does it sound like a wild cat?

    Cat stalking chickens?!!

Thanks:) I found out today that my neighbors are moving! Hopefully this time the new neighbors won't have a cat, but even if they did I wouldn't be to worried about it know. I just hope my new neighbors won't through cat poo in my yard like my current neighbors. :gig

    Cat stalking chickens?!!

I have left my chicken coop unlocked at night for my shy hen Lila to sleep on the door and the cat hasn't attacked and I haven't seen it in a while. Thanks everyone! If this cat grows to be older may it spy on my chickens again not as just being a curious kitten? Will it attack? I used to...

    Cat stalking chickens?!!

Me neither. I once had a young pullet around the age of 7 months and she had just began to lay about 1 month after she hurt her foot really bad. That caused her to be the smallest pullet out of my other 4 pullets. She was a great little bird but she was bullied a lot even by the bigger pullets...

That's little weird how they just throw cats in your yard :gig my other neighbors had a cat once and let it run around the town, they never fed it or took care of it, and finialy when winter came... The cat was frozen. If the other cat my other neighbors own comes in my coop and hurts my...

That's interesting that geese are such good protectors of chickens, I'll think about getting a goose this spring. :) I was also planning on getting a rooster his spring because I want chicks and a good protector of my hens. They're are racoons around here but they never have bothered my hens...

    Cat stalking chickens?!!

I would do that but I think this cat belongs to my neighbors and it's a kitten so I think they wouldn't be too happy if I did that, that's a great idea though and if this cat does cause a problem in the future I will get a live to trap to catch it. This cat I'm pretty sure isn't wild although...

    Cat stalking chickens?!!

Thanks, My hens are 1 and a half to almost 5 years old they are full grown. I saw the cat again it is a young kitten smaller than my hens. Once it gets older I'll worry more but I think it belongs to my neighbors who have a little cat carrier out side and they put poop filled cat litter in my...

    Cat stalking chickens?!!

@sk2853 that's cool, I didn't know some cats just don't care. The cat running around my house actually turns out to be a kitten but a older one. I saw it today and it ran away when I went near it. @Jesusfreak101 I saw this cat run like on the tree a little than it ran into the woods. I think...

    Cat stalking chickens?!!

Thanks, I think this cat is a house cat and not a stray because I have seen it around and it seems to go back to its house I guess, around sun down. I am not with my chickens in the after noon - weekdays, would they be in danger at those times? And one more question (sorry about all the...

    Cat stalking chickens?!!

:barnie I was out with my chickens and than one of them made this weird sound and walked closer weryly and stretched her head out to look though the fence cracks. All while the other hens did the same thing with that wery sound chickens make when they are nervous or see a preditor. I climbed up...
