you can make a mash out of any feed really even the layer feed but I would want to stop using that feed because of the calcium , although it's not as much calcium as the extra supplements were.
this is what I have for tube feeding but the tube itself is too soft and has weird openings so i cut a piece of oxygen hosing for it instead or aquarium hosing can work and then i softened the end using a little heat near it from a lighter so it wont scrape the throat...

it does sound like all the calcium in the layer feed while she wasn’t laying all winter could’ve built up that’s why we don’t give layer feed. I let them take what they need from a dish of oyster shell on the side.
