She's about 2 years old, egg was pretty typical size, possibly a tad smaller than the others she's laid. I thought from the start I had a double yolk in there....but didn't think much of it once baby was developing normally. Thank you for your replies! We have 4 new eggs we will attempt to...
Update...no movement still, decided baby was definitely dead. I did "hatch" it myself and baby was upside down in the egg and looks to have 2 yolks....?!
99.5 temp....humidity on bator says 20% but it's always been off....prior tests state when it says 20% it's actually about 40%.
I've hatched 3 or 4 other times in this bator and they've always been fine.
I didn't see movement, but I assumed maybe he's resting? There was definitely movement...
Update:
Baby was not alive 😓 I still have 1 egg I candled and showed movement....I think internally pipped...am I safe to go ahead and remove dead baby?
One of our duckling externally pipped early this AM. It was chirping and attempting to come out around 9:15 am, but we came home from church and he hasn't chirped or moved since.
Is he shrink wrapped?
Do I need to assist at this point?
His little beak is out of the shell just past his egg...
