Topic of the Week - Integrating Chicks into an Adult Flock

My top hen has finally allowed (to an extent), the 3 black Orps into the flock. They are all roughly the same age about 20-24 weeks old. None of them laying yet. They are allowed to free range for 3 hours in the backyard when I get home from work I have 2 14 week old Ameraucanas that are in...

Thank you! They are about 20-24 weeks old and still not laying. I have 2 10 week old Ameraucana chicks that will be integrated when they are much bigger, and the process will begin anew. I plan on downsizing, as the coop is only 4x4, with nesting boxes in the back that adds to the coop...

Topic of the Week - Integrating Chicks into an Adult Flock

I meant to write that they are 12-20 weeks old and not months. Does that make a difference? The remaining pullets are not yet laying, but the 2 new ones will be laying, and they are only 6-8 months old.

Topic of the Week - Integrating Chicks into an Adult Flock

What do you do when you have acquired a mixed flock of "pullets" ranging in age 12-20 months of age and they all get along. One month later you realize you have to cull 5 roos and replace them with new pullets. How do you integrate the new ones with the remaining 2.
