That is a nice space for them. If you put Speck into water she doesn't like it? Even if the other 2 are in with her? If you get her wet will she preen? you may have to wet her down and let her preen so she gets her feathers oiled. She might not like it but she needs to learn to preen and get her...
They are all so precious. They really do grow like weeds don't they? I bet they enjoy being outside I know mine sure do.
They all look great and exercise should really help Speck gain strength. I can even tell your 2 new little ones have grown.
Oh my gosh how precious. ❤️
How is Speck doing with them?
I'm right behind you if counting ducks and chickens and goose I have a total of 30. :highfive:
You might try making a shoe and see if that helps to straighten it out more since she’s still growing.
How old is the new duckling any way you could take Speck along and separate with a piece of hardware cloth in a box or crate so they could be bonding in that time your driving...
Speck is def tiny, but if the other ducklings aren't paying her any attention possibly stepping on her it maybe best to remove them and give her a mirror to keep her company. Of course it's up to you.
I'm sorry Speck has had a set back but it sounds like you are getting it over with quick now that you know what to do.
I would go with a Call or a Mallard? both similar in size. Give Speck a mirror for company while you search and move the 2 big ones out with the rest.
Is she full Runner or a mix? If mix do you know breeds? Just like us humans we all come in different sizes so Speck will be small size ( if she was human it would be easy finding clothes for her ) hopefully your concern won’t amount to anything since she’s eating drinking and gaining weight.
Speck looks good though she just has tiny Call duck syndrome . Seriously I hope she will continue to thrive, it sure sounds like she has a wonderful person caring for her and the others.
