    Just want to say, after only a week, I see pin feathers starting!! The biggest wound has closed significantly! I had no idea they would heal so fast and I'm so happy. Thank you all for the encouragement! I'll post a pic when they're fully feathered again.

    Yeah! I hope so! Was yours as bad as this?? I've never had a pecking problem with my other hens and this was so bad.

    I've made them scrambled eggs a few days in a row and started mixing their feed in it today. I really want to get them outside in the sunshine but I'm afraid of fly strike. Do you think the skin will grow back over the one??? You can see her tail bone. :hit

    Here they are. The one that has the worst injury is actually the most active and vocal. The other hen is a lot smaller though and she had a rough start.

    It was definitely from pecking. The coop is nearly water tight so there was no way a rat/mouse could've gotten in. Thanks for telling me about the rest of the thread. The pics were helpful to see that my girls have a chance!
